In the spring, in the lightly shaded woods near my studio, I am always delighted when tiny, exquisite blue forget-me-not flowers begin to appear. During Victorian Times, Forget-Me-Not was a lover's flower, asking that the recipient hold the giver of the flowers in their heart for all time.
This beautiful forget-me-not statement necklace combines a beautiful patterned wire with a filigree mounting for the 6 mm and 8 mm stones. The result is a nod to Victorian wedding jewelry, which often used white pearls with white gold or silver to great effect. The entire centerpiece of this necklace measures 75 mm in width (approximately 3 inches) and 60 mm in length (approximately 2.3 inches). It features two 6 mm mother of pearl cabochons at the top, set into filigree mountings, and one 10 mm mother of pearl cabochon at the bottom, also set into a filigree mounting that is supported by a cast sterling silver component. The centerpiece is supported by an oval link chain, which has a sterling silver lobster claw closure.
The sterling silver jewelry shown in my store has been antiqued, and then re-polished in order to better show the detail, but can also be created with a bright, mirror finish if you prefer. I am happy to create this necklace for you in any size you need. I am always happy to discuss alternate stone choices. Please let me know if you have any questions!
